AT&T/Lucent/Avaya 8400 series codes
The 8400 series of Definity phones have some settings you can modify directly on the phone.
They are accessed by pressing shift-mute-[2 digits]
If your phone does not have a shift button, use ring-mute-[2 digits]
Note:Onhook Dialing on Terminals? in system-parameters features must be set to N for this to work.
I scanned the codes on a Lucent branded 8434DX with R5.0 firmware and found the following:
